the ALBUM

Chorals is the first full length album by the Italian producer Rue Savage. After two eps of psychedelic electronic he wanted to show a more ambitious and complete project. He went all around the world to find the perfect voices for every song: many different singers lend their craft and they’re from Italy, US, Australia and UK.

It’s a global and choral record, mixing influences from both Pop and Electronic worlds, in a process that is able to delivery a coherent, personal and original style. The result moves with ease from electronic to Soul, from R’n’B to Trip-Hop.

Melodies and atmospheres bring the listener in a wide and psychedelic sonic world, and the lyrics deal with personal themes in the life of the author and the singers: birth and end of a love, attraction, the loss of a loved one or the search for one’s place in the world.

Bio

Rue Savage is the French name of a plant with powerful beneficial effects, the Syrian Rue. In greek mythology, is given to Ulysses by the God Hermes to make him human again.
It is also the main ingredient in the preparation of shamanic drinks. In a literal translation, the name is also a word pun which means “wild way”, or to look for an alternative way to the more common one.

It is the electronic project of Andrea Simoncini, Italian producer, bassist and multi-instrumentalist. In 2017 he founded his label Anuman Records, to have an independent space in which to publish quality records and music outside the conventions of genres. As Rue Savage, he published two e.p. Cosmos and Going Forward. He currently works as a producer with singers and musicians.

the ALBUM

Chorals è il primo disco di Rue Savage, progetto elettronico del produttore Andrea Simoncini. Dopo la pubblicazione di due e.p. di elettronica psichedelica ha deciso di dedicarsi ad un lavoro più completo e ambizioso. Ha girato tutto il mondo per scovare le voci adatte ad ogni brano: diversi cantanti hanno prestato la loro voce e vengono dall’Italia agli Stati Uniti, dall’Inghilterra all’Australia.

È un disco corale e globale, moltissime influenze convergono in un lavoro che si muove tra il pop internazionale e l’elettronica, in un processo di unione e di ricerca molto personale di stile e sonorità. Il risultato è un caleidoscopio multi-sfaccettato che passa con naturalezza dall’Elettronica al Soul, da richiami R’n’B a reminiscenze Trip-Hop.

Melodie e atmosfere che trasportano l’ascoltatore in un mondo sonoro ampio, avvolgente e psichedelico. I testi affrontano temi personali nella vita dell’autore e dei cantanti: nascita e fine di un amore, attrazione, la perdita di una persona cara o il la ricerca del proprio posto nel mondo.

  Bio

Rue Savage è, in francese, il nome di un pianta dai potenti effetti benefici, la Ruta Siriana. Nella mitologia viene donata ad Ulisse dal dio Hermes, per farlo tornare di nuovo umano. Viene usata anche nella preparazione di bevande sciamaniche. In una traduzione letterale, il nome è anche un gioco di parole che significa “rotta selvaggia”, ovvero cercare una strada alternativa a quella più comune.

È il progetto elettronico di Andrea Simoncini, producer e poli-strumentista attivo a Bologna. Nel 2017 fonda l’etichetta anuman records, per avere uno spazio indipendente in cui pubblicare dischi e musica di qualità al di fuori delle convenzioni dei generi. Come Rue Savage ha pubblicato i due e.p. Cosmos e Going Forward, e lavora come produttore con cantanti e musicisti.
